Notify Logistics was meant to solve the challenge of affordable retail space in Kenya and specifically Nairobi. We coined the term Rent-A-Shelf to introduce our new model of getting affordable retail space where instead of renting a whole shop we allowed many small businesses to co-share one shop efficiently with Notify Logistics providing shop attendants, licenses and all other amenities necessary to operate a shop.

Our Lease-to-Rent program is simple, we allow an investor to lease a shelf with Notify for a period of up-to 5 years with the sole intention of renting it out to small businesses and earning rent from it. This gives an investor a high quality alternative investment opportunity that gives stable and consistent yields. For only KES20,000 one can lease one shelf for a period of up to 5 years which we will then rent it out to small businesses on your behalf who in turn pay you (the investor) their rent. This model works more like Airbnb where we look for vendors while individual investors own the shelves therefore creating a partnership between us.

  1. Will I manage the vendor who occupies my shelf?

No. Notify Logistics will help in vendor management ensuring the vendor pays rent on time and that your shelf is always occupied. Once we get a vendor for your shelf, we will give you a copy of the contract your vendor/tenant has signed and the basic information about the vendor.

  1. What happens if a vendor fails to pay rent on a given month?

Our vendors pay an annual fee of KES20,000 annually so you also receive the whole year’s rent upfront. This removes the risk of montly defaults giving you the peace of mind.

  1. Where do vendors pay rent?

Your vendors pay rent directly to your account, this makes the process more transparent. You will know your vendors beforehand and rent is made to you. Notify Logistics will assist you in getting the vendor and ensuring rent is paid to the correct account.

  1. Is there a contract we sign?

Yes, the entire process is done above board. There is a contract we sign that will also be notarized by our lawyers.
